The design draws from traditional Indonesian architecture, reinterpreted through a contemporary way of dwelling. Pointed roofs inspired by Sumatran houses rise above the canopy, giving the buildings a vertical presence while remaining grounded in their context.
Spaces are arranged to remain open and connected, allowing the interior to extend naturally into the surrounding garden. Light, air, and vegetation move freely through the architecture, creating a continuous relationship between inside and outside.
Materiality becomes an essential layer of the experience. Weathered wood, textured surfaces, and filtered light shape an atmosphere that feels both familiar and slightly distant.
Rumah Tresna reflects an approach where architecture is shaped by what already exists, forming a place that is at once rooted in tradition and open to new ways of living.
