Commission Alignment
Each residential commission begins with alignment. The studio works selectively, ensuring the ambition of the project matches the architectural intent required to create a significant home.
Conversations focus on values, long term vision and the desired relationship between the house and its landscape. This stage defines whether the project warrants the depth of exploration necessary for enduring architectural relevance.

Site Immersion & Environmental Study
The site is studied in detail before form is considered. Topography, prevailing winds, sun path, drainage patterns and surrounding vegetation inform the earliest architectural decisions.
Rather than imposing a predefined language, the design emerges from terrain and climate. Orientation, section and massing are shaped by environmental intelligence and spatial restraint.

Architectural Concept & Structural Logic
The conceptual phase establishes structural clarity and spatial hierarchy. The house is defined by proportion, rhythm and the relationship between solid and void.
Structure is treated as an expressive element rather than concealed infrastructure. The architectural idea must be strong enough to guide every subsequent decision.

Spatial Sequencing & Experience
Private residences are composed as spatial journeys. Arrival, compression, expansion and framed views are choreographed carefully.
Light, shadow and material transitions create moments of pause and depth. Circulation is considered both functional and experiential, shaping how the home is lived in daily.

Climate Responsive Detailing
Bali’s humidity, rainfall and heat demand precision. Passive cooling, deep overhangs, cross ventilation and thermal performance are integrated from concept stage.
Material selection prioritises durability and ageing quality. Details are developed to withstand tropical conditions while maintaining architectural integrity over time.

Material Strategy & Craft
Materiality is approached with restraint. Each element must serve structural clarity and spatial coherence rather than decorative effect.
Collaboration with skilled local craftsmen and fabricators ensures that concrete, timber, steel and stone are resolved with care, proportion and longevity.

Technical Development & Coordination
Detailed design integrates structural engineers, consultants and specialist fabricators to translate concept into buildable precision.
Every junction, span and interface is reviewed to ensure the architectural language remains intact through technical refinement.

Construction Oversight & Integrity
Ongoing involvement during construction safeguards proportion, material quality and spatial intent.
The objective is not speed of completion but fidelity to the architectural idea. The finished home should reflect the clarity of the original concept, aging with dignity within its landscape.
